This summer was a little different than our usual summers of climbing as many 14ners as we can cram into the small window of the climbing season. I train at The Body School, and one of the great things about this gym is we like to set BIG goals. This year our goal was to complete our first half iron man triathlon. For those who don’t know it is a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run. I had no idea what I was getting myself into but needless to say I was excited for the challenge. I spent countless hours researching what it would take to train and be ready for this event. So pretty much every day I was running and biking, or biking and swimming, or swimming lifting, you name it I was doing it. I had never worked out so much in my life but as the summer went on the excitement and anticipation of this lofty goal grew. The reality of what it would take to finish the event was setting in, it began to feel like even though I was working out every day that it was not enough. Then I decided to look at the training schedule of someone who is training for a full Ironman, all I can say is WOW! That made me feel like I was on track to achieve my half.
Then everything took a little turn, I was 2 weeks out from the event and was getting ready to go on my final long bike ride, I knew it was an off day when my friend Kevin got a flat tire and had no way of changing it, luckily between myself and our other friend John we were able to make it happen. We had just finished a tour through the suburbs of Castle Rock and we were getting ready to head down a long fast hill when my buddy Kevin took a little right turn and I was following to close and clipped his back tire, which sent me over the handle bars! To make a long story short I ended up with a broken elbow and ultimately not able to compete in the event that I trained all summer for! Of course I was devastated! Even though I was not able to compete I knew in my heart that I had done everything I need to complete the event. I was ready, and what I know for sure is that it could have been a lot worse and there will be other races.

Have you heard? The Denver real estate market is improving! Sometimes our media forgets to tell us the good news. So who out there has a house to sell? The other great thing that is going on is our inventory is low, so what does that mean? It is a SELLERS market, right here in Denver, Colorado! So what are you waiting for?
As we quickly approach the summer selling season, the question still remains. Should I sell or should I stay? While the Denver market is improving we are not out of the weeds yet. Sales prices are increasing but many people are still underwater on their homes.
