Travis Hightower, Colonel Hightower and Abigail Hayes (Hightower in spirit) set out Friday afternoon with visions of a summit in their heads. We arrived late evening in the San Isabel National Forest, it was raining when we arrived and we were a little discouraged that we would have to set up camp in the rain. As soon as we arrived in the town of Winfield the rain stopped. Camp was set and we nestled in for a good nights rest before our summit. When we woke on Saturday we knew that it was going to be a perfect day for a summit! The weather was gorgeous all day and the views were spectacular. We hit the summit of Huron Peak about 10:15am, had a little snack on top and headed back down. All in all it was a fine outing. Stay tuned for our adventure next weekend! Happy Climbing:)
