Colorado Wines Not To Be Ignored

So I decided that I would take a break from the real estate world again, nothing is new, prices in Denver are up, unemployment is up, and the government is still running in circles trying to figure out how to get us out of this mess!  So lets talk wine, nobody ever gets tired of drinking right?  We just drink more when times are bad.

My good friend Rachel Katz and I had dinner  in Denver at Root Down, great place if you have not been yet.  But the waiter recommended a 2004Verso Cabernet Sauvignon from Colorado, I will admit I was shocked but he insisted that we would not be disappointed.  It was so delicious we just could not believe that the wine came from Colorado.  Of course we wrote down the wine information so we could figure out how TO GET MORE!  If you can believe this we get home and it is about 9:00pm and we decide that we are going to check out the website for the wine, we see a number and we decide to call.  Can you believe Paul Phillips (winemaker) answers!  So Rachel stays on the line with him and he tells us the whole story about how this delicious wine came about.  Rachel was so excited, she had never talked to a winemaker before.  The rest is history, Rachel had her wedding shower a couple weeks ago and had a case of Verso on tap for the party.  It was so fun and the wine was spectacular.  I must say….Colorado wine has come a long way.

What new wines have you tasted lately?  I would love to try something new!
